Come Experience YMCA Kanawana with your Family, School or Group!
Situated within an hour from Montreal, YMCA Kanawana is the perfect location for a family or group getaway. Our beautiful 550-acre site is the backdrop to a variety of seasonal activities and program options.
YMCA Kanawana is available for rent year round (6 – 250 persons) , and in a limited capacity during the summer and winter (6- 26 persons). Accommodation in Centre Camp area is primarily in small cabins (with no electricity or plumbing) or platform tents. A limited number of cabins with electricity are available. Washrooms and shower facilities are easily accessible. Private camp sites are also available on Lake Wilson year round.
Front Camp houses the Farmhouse and Blockhouse, which are winterized facilities with fully equipped kitchens, living space, bathrooms, showers and electricity. These facilities are available for group/family rental year-round.
The Farmhouse is a two storey, three bedroom chalet which can house 6-8 people.It has two double beds, two bunk beds, living and dining spaces and a wrap around porch with a great view of the lake.
The Blockhouse is a two storey dorm style building with a maximum capacity of 26 (bunk beds). Sleeping quarters are upstairs in three separate large rooms with a bathroom. The main floor features a large living space with a wood stove, couches, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom and shower facilities. Television/VCR are available upon request.
Programming: YMCA Kanawana staff animation (nature walks, school outings, leadership and outdoor skills, canoeing etc…) and equipment rental (cross country skis, snowshoes, canoes, kayaks) are available.
Food service: Available June through September.
