SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT Your gift of time, money and experience will make all the difference to future Kanawanians. You can make a personal or family contribution, or bring together a group of Kanawanians to help build a camper or staff cabin, program lodge or to enlarge the playing field. For example, 16 "Summer of 75" Kanawanians can build a cabin by pledging $2,500 per person, which represents an annual gift of $500 over 5 years. They could then come up to camp to help with the construction and finishing touches, and celebrate with a special inauguration ceremony. You can also designate your gift to environmental features such as high energy wood-burning stoves or composting toilets (yes, a first in Quebec!). Click here to find out more about designating your gift. We will post ongoing results of our Alumni and Friends Campaign on this page and ensure that your contribution is recognized at camp. CAMPERSHIPS You can offer the YMCA Kanawana experience to children who would not otherwise be able to participate in summer camp. The Sam Lazarus Fund
The Sam Lazarus Fund was established in the memory of Sam Lazarus who spent several summers at Camp YMCA Kanawana as both campers and staff member and prematurely passed away at age 24. Sam was an enthusiastic and giving individual who embodied the spirit of camp. This fund provides camperships to underprivileged children so that thay may benefit from the YMCA Kanawana experience. A Street-Hockey Jamboree is held annually in September in order to raise funds for this cause.
